Her Story
𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗗𝗨𝗖𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗜𝗘
Annie was literally a Hot Mess when she came to us a little over a month ago. She was sad. She was fearful. She was broken. Her spirit had been crushed. She didn’t trust anyone.
𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗜𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗡
She didn’t know how to respond to our attempts at comforting her, so she’d snap at you if you tried to touch her or pick her up. We weren’t sure we could help her. We were very worried. But we had nothing to lose but maybe a little bit of our hearts.
This less than 2-year-old Yorkie, Silkie, Wire-haired terrier mix has had a pretty rough life. Adopted by a college student as an 8-week-old, teeny pup, she’d been passed around to others due to lack of time to care for her. Sadly, poor Annie has spent much of her life crated and alone. When ‘transferred temporarily’ to one family member, she became pregnant, her puppies were sold and she lost her housetraining. She was kept crated most of the time and was fighting with the other dog. She was then returned to her original owner as a very unhappy, very stressed, very confused dog. Once there, she remained crated and alone most of the time…for a few months… until her owner reached out for help. Luckily, we were able to move her directly into a foster home where she got lots of love, some confidence building and structure.
𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗜𝗘 𝗡𝗢𝗪
She knocks our socks off.
She has done a complete 180 with love and attention. She’s an amazing little girl. She takes a little bit to trust strangers, but she’s getting braver every day. After a couple minutes she becomes comfortable – and she’s your new best friend.
Her foster mom describes her as a sweet, love bug who joyfully shadows her throughout the house. She happily runs and plays with the other little dogs, and she has an absolute ball. She’ll run around and play, and then come and check in. It’s as though she’s stopping to check to make sure that this new life – where someone loves her and cares for her – and where she has fun, is for real. She so badly wants to make sure you’re happy with her and that you love her.
𝘈𝘯𝘯𝘪𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘩𝘰𝘮𝘦! She’s spayed now, so no more of her puppies to be sold! She’ll be two years old in June and she currently weighs 13 lbs. She needs a patient, loving home where she gets lots of positive attention and where she has other friendly dogs as playmates. Her adoption fee is $300 and includes her spay, Bordetella vaccine, Rabies vaccine, microchip and other vetting.
