His Story

They say that a picture is worth a thousand words… and it was Rocky’s animal shelter pictures that caught our attention. But – pictures can be deceiving.

We were expecting Rocky to be a big, puppy-like, houndy kid. What we found when we met him blew our minds. LOL. Four members of our management team went to interview him – and at first meeting we pretty much stood there with mouths open and eyes wide. He was not at all what we expected. We were pleasantly surprised… and in awe…. and immediately in love.

Rocky is definitely awe inspiring. He is tall – like giant breed tall… like Dane or Saint Bernard tall. His head isn’t just big. It. is. Huge.

He is a beautiful boy – and Super sweet and very gentle. He’s a thin 82 pounds – lighter than you’d expect for his height. His previous owner said he is good with kids and housetrained. He’s playful and treat motivated. He’s also surprisingly good on leash. Sadly, his previous owner moved away and said Rocky couldn’t go with her. We cannot believe he has been waiting in the shelter for a month! He blew his coat while in the shelter, so he’s a bit disheveled looking right now. We have him on the schedule for a good grooming and once he gets some good nutrition, his coat will be awesome again.

Rocky is 2-years-old and 82 pounds. His adoption fee is $300 and includes his neuter, microchip, Bordetella vaccine, Rabies vaccine and other vetting. If you are interested in meeting Rocky, please complete an application today.
