Her Story

Honey is one of the new girls at Refuge Rescue. Her sweet face melted our hearts when we were getting to know lots of dogs for our program this week. We picked her up from the shelter yesterday and were disheartened to see that she had come down with a very nasty upper respiratory infection. We have her on very strong, broad spectrum antibiotics and a cough suppressant. The dejected, miserable look on her face, along with the slumped shoulders and sad doe-eyes….she’s just breaking our hearts! She should feel better in no time once the meds kick in.

Honey is so adorable – in looks and temperament. Her coat is a beautiful red chestnut. When she’s feeling well, she’s playful and sweet. She takes treats very gently and she’s nice on leash. She does a nice sit, too, when asked. She’s the perfect family dog.

Honey is 18-months-old and less than 45 pounds. The shelter listed her as a Hound mix. Her adoption fee is $300 and includes her spay, microchip, Bordetella vaccine, Rabies vaccine and other vetting. If you would like to come meet this great girl, please fill out an adoption application below.
