His Story

Augie is finally learning what it means to be treated with TLC. We rescued his sister Bella (now renamed Stella by her new family) several months ago from a trailer park in Rome, GA. Their mother, Molly (who we have since rescued), spent her entire 4 years chained to a cinder block out in front of a  house trailer. After we offered to spay Molly, they put her son, Auggie, on the chain outside as their makeshift alarm system. Auggie is a shy boy now but is slowly gaining confidence as he gets to know people at the rescue. We’re so glad he now has a chance at a happy life!

Yesterday was a Huge day for him. Some kind people untied him from that cement block and drove him over an hour to get him to us. When he arrived, we removed the metal tether from his collar; and then we removed the too-tight collar that was starting to become embedded in his neck.

A DAY OF FIRSTS

It was a day of firsts for him… First day of freedom… First car ride… First time getting his collar off…First time without fleas…First time ever having canned food! And oh my – he loves canned food! A wonderful foster has offered to have Augie live with her family until a forever family steps up.

Augie is almost 8 months old and he weighs about 40 pounds. He will be neutered in about 2 weeks and will be available ASAP. His adoption fee is $350 and includes his neuter, microchip, Bordetella vaccine, booster vaccines and other vetting.
